SIMS: Understands issues thoroughly

In opposition to some of the comments on the Cd’A Press site, I believe that most people don’t really understand why Kathy Sims and other legislators voted against the Behavior Health Crisis Center.

This center is not an in-patient facility. There is no extended care or treatment provided. People who are taken there are in desperate need of extended treatment, with most of them needing prescribed medications and continued counseling. We have many highly qualified health-care professionals in our area that could establish such a facility in our community. It should be run by professionals from the public sector. State and federal governments should not be in charge of running a program like this.

Kathy Sims works for the citizens she represents, not for the government. Being a self-made business owner, she is well aware of how financial decisions can affect the citizens in our area.

Kathy Sims is a big supporter of education advancement. She favors more charter schools and trade schools. We need to prepare our students to compete for jobs available throughout our country.

Kathy Sims favors the elimination of the sales tax on groceries, thereby leaving more dollars for people to pay their bills and everyday expenses. Kathy Sims has always worked hard and diligently to help the citizens who she represents. Kathy has always been eager to answer any questions from her constituents — and she is always willing to listen to their concerns.

In the many years that I have known Kathy, I have always found her to be extremely honest and very professional. Kathy Sims will never make promises just to get your vote.

We have the opportunity to send great people to Boise.
