BIBLE: It holds many answers

There are many debates in this country that are social in nature. The answers to all of these debates are in a book that is available to everyone, but most people do not want to read it. Everyone is talking about race, but there is only one race, the human race. There may be different ethnic groups, but still only one race. We may have different amounts of melanin in our skin, but we are still only one race. There are many people who become wealthy by promoting different races. If the truth were known, their real motive is most probably getting more money.

The answers to the other social issues, of which there are many, are in the Bible. If people would read this book, their questions would be answered. On that note, let me say this. The Bible must be read in context. Many people take one verse or part of one verse and make a doctrine out of it or try to prove a point without using the complete message in that verse and surrounding text.

Here is an example of this is a statement by President Obama on his support for civil unions for gay couples. He said, “If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount.” Did the president ever read Matthew 5, verses 1 to 48? It has nothing to do with civil unions. The president’s speech writers are not checking their facts or are actually attempting deception by improperly using the Bible. There is one very easy to understand verse of the Bible. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” To keep this in context, it helps to continue with the next verses. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth in him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

I witness the world every day without God. The Bible covers everything from social issues to financial issues and it is the only guide for life and peace.
