POST FALLS - A female former employee of the Post Falls School District has been issued a misdemeanor citation for allegedly sending nude photos of herself to the cellphone of a male Post Falls High student.

Bobbi Deitz, 40, who was Title 1 paraprofessional employee at Seltice Elementary, is no longer employed at the district as of last Friday, school Superintendent Jerry Keane said.

"The bottom line is that she's no longer employed at the district; that's all I can say about the matter," said Keane, adding that it's a personnel issue and only limited information can be released.

Paraprofessional employees perform a variety of duties such as tutoring, monitoring recess and working with students with special needs.

The citation was for sending harmful material to a minor. The male student is 16.

"This is very embarrassing for (Deitz) and she's very remorseful," Post Falls Police Chief Scot Haug said Thursday. "It's an unfortunate situation."

Haug said there's no evidence of sexual intercourse between Deitz and the male student, but the male told police they kissed once and the idea to kiss was his.

However, police said there was a "concerning" text conversation between the two.

Haug said Deitz confessed to detectives that she sent the photos. The images were allegedly sent on Oct. 9.

She sent the male student the images after he requested them, according to the police report.

"Bobbi admitted that she had been drinking the night she sent the pictures (to the victim) and was at her home when she did it," the police report states.

Detectives have been investigating the case for two weeks, Haug said.

"We were notified by a Coeur d'Alene detective, who received a call from someone who reported it," Haug said.

A Post Falls detective then contacted the male student and his parents.

"His parents were aware of the photos and were in the middle of dealing with this with their child," Haug said.

The police report states that the male student has known Deitz for several years and seemed "shocked" that she would send the images. He told police she seems like another mother to him and that she has purchased items such as headphones and snowboard passes for him.

Deitz told police she had never sent nude images of herself before this alleged incident.

Deitz, who had been employed at the school district since 2007, was named an Educational Support Person of the Year for the district in 2011-12.
