What would you do for love?

COEUR d'ALENE - The North Idaho College Theatre Department presents "The Shape of Things" at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24-25, Oct. 30-31, Nov. 1; and 2 p.m. Oct. 26 in NIC's Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center on NIC's main campus.

"The Shape of Things" was written by Neil LaBute, who was raised in Spokane and has become one of the country's leading playwrights. He's also enjoyed a successful film career.

"The Shape of Things" is a thought-provoking, at times confrontational, fascinating, funny and heartbreaking play. Focusing on the lives and relationships between four students attending college in a small town, the play examines the implications of individualism, artistic license, compassion, good and evil and more.

"It shows relationships honestly, not in an inappropriate way or lewd way," said guest director Scott Doughty. "It features one of the greatest twists of the 21st century. It'll blow the audience away."

"The Shape of Things" leaves room for audience members to decide for themselves how the various debates resolve. The play is free and open to the public. It is suggested for audiences age 17 and older because of adult themes, profanity and sexual situations.
