Dale Pittsley, 71

Dale E. Pittsley of Libby, Mont., died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, after several years of declining health. He was 71.

Dale was born July 4, 1943, in Watford City, N.D., the youngest son of Ernest and Irene Pittsley. He was one of 11 children. At a young age Dale moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho, where he attended Hayden Lake Elementary and Coeur d'Alene High School.

Dale's activities included bull riding, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was well liked and had many friends.

On Aug. 19, 1971, Dale married Jean Thul in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They have one son, David.

Dale worked for Coeur d'Alene Nursery for 30 years as a tractor operator planting and lifting trees. He moved to Libby in 1991 after retiring, and worked for the Libby School District before working at Cabinet View Golf Course, where he employed up until his stroke in 2001.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Robert, Neil, and Ernie; sisters Isabel Menge, and Phyllis Knecht, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jean, of Libby; son David of Moscow, Idaho, and son Lorne of Colorado; brothers Glenn of North Dakota, and Arlo of Coeur d'Alene; sisters Mabel Judkins of Bridger, Mont., Vi Primmer of Hauser Lake, Idaho, and Doris Walters of Puyallup, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at a later time.
