Kalispell man sentenced for 2013 stabbing

A Kalispell man received five years in the Montana State Prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend's male acquaintance.
Scott Peter Bolt, 20, was sentenced Oct. 2 in Flathead County District Court to 15 years in prison with 10 years suspended for the July 2013 assault.
Bolt was charged with two felony counts of assault with a weapon, and pleaded guilty to one charge.
According to court documents, Bolt contacted police from outside his First Street West apartment and told them he had gone to the apartment he shared with his ex-girlfriend and found her there with another man, Dylan Day.
Bolt told police he had hidden outside and saw the pair enter the apartment together and then grabbed a hunting knife out of his vehicle.
Bolt entered the apartment, pushed his way past his ex-girlfriend and sliced Day several times in the head and neck area with the knife. He then told Day to leave, which he did.
Day, however, didn't know he had been stabbed until he stopped at a gas station down the street, where a clerk called an ambulance.
Bolt also reportedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with the knife after Day left.
The court also ordered Bolt to undergo a mental health evaluation.
