Veterans Day assembly planned for Royal Schools in November

ROYAL CITY - The Royal School District Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is planning its annual Veterans Day Assembly for Friday, Nov. 7.
Veterans Day and veterans from all over the Royal Slope will be recognized from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Royal High School Gym.
"We'd like to invite all local veterans to attend the assembly," PTO member Katie Allred said. "Please notify veterans in your family and veterans among your friends and acquaintances. We don't want to miss anyone."
The father of a fallen soldier will be a guest speaker. He is Pat Pace of Brawley, Calif. Pat and his wife Kathy are life-long friends of Royal residents Steve and Janet Jack.
The Paces' son, Captain Scott Pace of the U.S. Army, died in Afganistan with Lt. Mat Fazzari of Walla Walla when their helicopter went down.
