A friendly woman on Nucleus Avenue called Columbia Falls Police Department to report two men in their early 20s, who were sitting on small bicycles in a grocery store parking lot, “were up to no good,” because “they didn’t say ‘hi’ back to her.”

Not clear if these were the same two men in their 20s who said they were going to shoot a bear bedded down behind a Second Avenue East motel with a bow and arrow. Police said the area behind the motel was in the county jurisdiction and nothing was illegal as long as the men had permits.

Over the weekend someone took a wheelchair left on a Fourth Street West driveway.

A concerned woman in a vehicle on Diane Road waited for police to check a powdery substance dumped “on the floor” because she didn’t want to walk through it with her baby. It was later determined to be powder from a fire extinguisher.

An elderly woman in a parking lot on First Street East called to report that she was unable to start her vehicle. A tow truck was called.

Kalispell Police Department received a request from a counselor at a North Meridian Road business to talk to a 16-year-old male about “gang-related stuff,” because the youth was trying to start a gang.

Two men allegedly left a store on Third Avenue East North without paying for items. The man making the report said he didn’t need an officer, stating that “these guys come in and steal ‘s***’ all the time.”

An agitated woman called from her Fifth Avenue East residence to report a man wearing a cape walking outside. She said that “he is crazy and needs to be put away.”

A dog attack that left a puppy injured was reported from Second Street West.

A man lying in the roadway of an Airport Road bar wanted to press charges after he was allegedly assaulted by the bartender’s significant other after he was asked to leave the bar and went out in front to smoke. The man, who said he was pushed down, denied medical attention and was advised by police to move out of the roadway.

Someone from a South Main Street business reported a case had been broken into and turquoise jewelry and a gun had been stolen by two young males.

A worried neighbor on Bluestone said that someone might be trying to break into another house because the dogs were “going nuts” and she heard the fence rattle. It was later determined the residents themselves were home.

Third Street West neighbors were counseled by police after a man said his neighbor’s high-powered lights were shining into his house and were “difficult to deal with.”

A man and woman were seen fighting outside on Seventh Street West and 11th Avenue West. The woman reportedly yelled “don’t stab me” and “call the cops.” The parties said it was a verbal argument only and the man would go to the detention center on a warrant and the woman would have a friend pick her up.

A man on First Avenue East reported a broken car window but said nothing was missing.

Tires were slashed on two vehicles located at Fifth Avenue West and West Wyoming Street.

A silver Macintosh laptop was stolen from a South Main Street business. The laptop had been accidentally left by a side door outside the building and was gone in the morning.
