Spikers down Lady Pirates, go 7-0 in league

The Columbia Falls volleyball team continued its roll through the Northwest A conference last week, downing Polson in three games at home Oct. 23.
The Wildkats swept the Lady Pirates 25-17, 25-19, 25-10. Kiara Burlage led the Kats at the net with 13 kills. Cydney Finberg had 28 assists, and Shaylene Fishel had four aces in the win.
The Kats wrap up the regular season against Whitefish on Saturday night. There’s been a schedule change due to football and soccer playoffs. The freshmen games will now start at 4:30 p.m., which means the varsity game should start about 7:30 p.m.
The Kats are now 7-0 in conference play and 11-1 overall. Whitefish is the last regular season game for the girls. Libby hosts the divisional tournament this year.

With continued cold weather, the potential for flooding by area rivers and streams has increased, the National Weather Service warned last week.
Search suspended for missing skiers
