COUNTY: Elect these candidates

Wow, what a shock. Greg Delavan, the Airport Manager for Pappy Boyington Airfield fired! Tondee doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. To have a good, viable, community airport requires a good plan that not only safeguards aviation activity in and out of the airport, but provides a safety margin for businesses and residence in adjacent areas. And, that’s what I understand Mike Satren of our community was instrumental in helping our Planning and Zoning Commission to develop a six-zone Airport Master Plan that was accepted by the Airport Board of Directors and Kootenai County Commissioners. Why would Tondee and his developer friends want to build homes in the wake of takeoff and landing approaches to Pappy Boyington Airfield? You’ve got it — it has to do with MONEY. People move into these new homes and then the complaints start. It’s too noisy, there are planes flying overhead.
Next come the restrictions on airplane activity and of course NO COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS, too noisy. Again, soon comes the move to close the airfield and all because people like Tondee and his developer friends don’t seem to understand the reasoning of development of a six-zone Airport Master Plan to safeguard specific approach segments of land for safety that also supports economic development. We need this airport! On Nov. 4 I’m voting for David Stewart and Marc Eberlein for county commissioner.
