Whitefish senior runner Sarah Latcham placed seventh at the Libby Invitational to post a solid start to her promising cross-country season.
Latcham’s time of 19:16.97 helped the Lady Bulldogs score 111 points in the competitive meet. Barrett Gray clocked a 20:20 to make the top-15.
Whitefish coach Sara Brist is hopeful the talented girls team will make some noise this fall. Along with Latcham and Gray, the team features key runners in juniors Peyton Twete, Katie Smith, Sara Perez, Annika Gordon and Kennah Fuller.
The boys also tallied 111 points at Libby to place fourth at the meet.
The Bulldogs this season are young and unproven and will look to build momentum as the season progresses.
