Football: Whitefish blasts Browning; C-Falls holds off Hamilton

BROWNING — Luke May passed for five touchdowns, three going to Jed Nagler, as Whitefish blasted Browning 48-0 on Friday in Class A nonconference football action.

May finished 10 of 13 passing for 271 yards. He threw one interception.

He also ran for one score — 15 yards.

Nagler had TD catches of 22, 19 and 80 yards. He finished with four receptions for 145 yards.

Brian FauntLeRoy, 3 yards, and Jack Streibich, 15 yards, had the other TD catches for Whitefish.

Chris Parks led the Bulldog ground game with 71 yards on seven attempts.

Defensively, Whitefish had one interception, four fumble recoveries and blocked a punt. Chassin Ross, a defensive end, had three sacks and two tackles for loss.

Whitefish held Browning to 22 yards passing and 65 yards rushing.

Columbia Falls 14, Hamilton 9

HAMILTON — Columbia Falls intercepted a pass by Hamilton quarterback Brett Huxtable in the end zone with 14 seconds left to preserve the Class A nonconference victory.

Columbia Falls took a 14-9 lead with six minutes showing on a 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dakota Bridwell to Nick Ream.

Karill Apendaile booted three field goals for Hamilton.

DILLON — JD Ferris passed for three touchdowns to carry Dillon to an easy nonconference Class A football victory over Polson.

Ferris completed 15 of 20 passes for 219 yards.

Jason Ferris ran for one touchdown, 25 yards, and Justin Ferris had two touchdown receptions 22 and 45 yards.

Nate Simpkins had the other TD reception, 45 yards, for Dillon.

Polson was held to 136 yards rushing, Jacob Clairmont had 11 carries for 82 yards, and just 13 yards passing.

Polson turned it over three times — two fumbles and a interception.

EUREKA — Aaron Misa hauled in a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Krahun with two minutes to play, lifting Ronan to a come-from-behind Class B victory over Eureka.

Krahun finished the night with three touchdown passes.

Austyn Sherwood ran for one touchdown and had two touchdown strikes of seven yards to Michael Peterson and James Dunn.

Garrett White led Eureka in rushing with 77 yards on 13 carries. Matthew Anderson was next with 50 yards on 16 attempts.

Sherwood completed 7 of 15 passes for 82 yards.

Brandon Conard led the Eureka defense from his safety position with eight tackles and an interception.

BIGFORK — Liam Breen ran for 230 yards and scored on a 33-yard touchdown run to lift Choteau over Bigfork in Class B nonconference action.

Breen rushed 38 times and averaged 6.1 yards per carry.

Bigfork scored on a 33-yard run by Josh Sandry, and 74-yard jaunt by Jonathan Landon and a 7-yard burst by Vinny Quirk.

Choteau outgained Bigfork 405-295 yards in total offense. Choteau ran 78 plays to Bigfork’s 44.
