The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a standoff Thursday night north of Libby.
A 911 call came in just before midnight reporting three suspicious men outside of a residence at River’s Edge Trailer Court on Montana 37. The caller was concerned for the safety of a woman living there.
Lincoln County deputies and Libby police officers responded to the residence, and spoke with the three men who said they were also concerned about the woman living at that residence.
Deputies learned that Larry Mathew Hanson, 45, from Libby, was possibly inside the home and in violation of a restraining order. Deputies made temporary visual contact with the woman inside the house, and also learned that Hanson had been disguising himself in order to visit the home unnoticed.
A search warrant was obtained and telephone contact was later made with Hanson. Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe negotiated Hanson’s surrender at about 7 a.m. Friday morning.
Hanson is being held on $100,000 bond at the Lincoln County Dention Center on charges of violation of a protection order, his third offense. Hanson is also being held on a felony bench warrant issued in Lincoln County District Court with a bail of $10 million.
