Crews hit a water line Sept. 9 while working on the Highway 93 West reconstruction project in Whitefish. Grouse Mountain Lodge is without water and one-way traffic is in effect while crews work to restore service.

According to contractor Schellinger Construction, the water line was not marked on current utility maps.

One-lane traffic is expected through the construction zone until Wednesday while the water line is being repaired.

Crew also broke a water line on Aug. 28 near Whitefish Lake Golf Club, resulting in some flooding on the No. 1 fairway of the North Course and in the tunnel below the road.

“Schellinger does not anticipate ongoing problems with water line breaks and apologizes for any inconvenience,” the company stated in a press release.
