THOMPSON FALLS – The Bluehawks had their first taste of a home game against Cut Bank, who proved to be a strong front.

Thompson Falls played well and closed the score gap. It wasn’t enough and the team lost 13-44.

In the first quarter Cut Bank scored the first touchdown with slightly over four minutes on the clock. After nailing in a kick, their opponents took the lead with a score of 0-7.

The Bluehawks quickly matched their competition’s touchdown as McKenzie Holt ran into the end zone, bringing the score to 6-7.

In the second quarter Cut Bank would score four more touchdowns, ending the second half with a score of 25-6.

The Bluehawks worked their way towards the end zone as Ty Carter broke away from the defense for a first down. With less than four minutes left in the quarter, Trais Hoisington was able to secure another first down for the team right outside of the end zone.

A handoff from quarterback to Kade Van Elswyk brought in the second touchdown of the night for Thompson Falls. With a solid kick, the score was boosted to 13-31.

Although Thompson Falls stayed on Cut Bank for the remainder of the game, they were unable to secure another touchdown and the game ended with a score of 13-44.

Overall the team had 46 tackles.

Thompson Falls will continue on to play Choteau on Friday, Sept. 12 at an away game.
