Golf: Pirates, Wildkats take C-Falls Invite

COLUMBIA FALLS — Polson’s boys and Columbia Falls girls served up runaway team victories at the Columbia Falls golf Invitational between the two schools and Libby on Tuesday at Meadow Lake Resort golf course.

Led by second and third place performances from Carson McDaniels, 87, and Reno Lindesmith, 88, Polson won the boys meet by 32 strokes. The Pirates’ Curtis Capdeville finished fifth overall, shooting 90 and Noah McDonald was sixth at 95.

Jonny Cielak won the boys meet by four strokes, leading Libby to a second place finish. Kyle McNew finished seventh with a 97 and Luke Adamson was eighth at 100.

Columbia Falls’ Gabe Love finished fourth with an 89, Tristen Steinwand eighth, 100, and Bryce Callender 10th, 103.

Polson’s Peyton Anderson and Heather Frank led the girls meet, Anderson winning by four strokes with an 88. Kiyara McCue finished eighth with a 124.

The Polson girls, however, couldn’t make up ground on the team of Columbia Falls, led by Ashley Trueblood’s third place score of 98. Shealyn Lefebvre was fifth, 104, Ali Gould sixth, 106  and Maddie Heinz ninth, 126.

Libby, which didn’t field a full team, placed all three girls in the top 10, led by Lily Feeback’s 102 in fourth. Hana Stewart was seventh with 122 and Asia Jones 10th at 134.
