BONNERS FERRY — Sept. 11 is Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Veteran James Knott from Bonners Ferry knows what it means to serve.

Knott was 20 when al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes in the largest coordinated terrorist attack ever on U.S. soil, flying them into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon and attempting to reach the White House Sept. 11, 2001.

Siding project raises concerns

BONNERS FERRY — Neighbors are up in arms about a two-mile stretch of the Union Pacific Railroad’s track along Moyie River Road in the permitting and design process to add a two-mile siding between the twin bridges over the Moyie River and Snyder Guard Station.
