GREAT FALLS — A 51-year-old Brockton man has been sentenced to 17 1/2 years in prison for stabbing a younger man to death and keeping the victim’s body in a room at his house while pretending to help the victim’s family and law enforcement search for him.
David Lewis was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Brian Morris. Lewis pleaded guilty in May to second-degree murder in the Jan. 11 death of 21-year-old Armon Boyd.
Charging documents alleged Lewis and Boyd were intoxicated when they got into a fight and Lewis stabbed Boyd 19 times in the back and shoulder with a kitchen knife.
Court records say when Boyd was reported missing Lewis pretended to help with the search, at one point calling Boyd’s grandmother to see how the search was going.
