Royal (0-1) dropped its opening match of the year, 1-0, to Cle-Elum Roslyn.
The Warriors' Kayla Graham scored the lone goal of the contest in the second half. Royal finished with four shots, only one being on goal.
The Knights were missing a captain due to a family commitment.
Othello (1-0) won its opening match against Connell, 3-0. The Huskies open CWAC play Saturday against Toppenish.
Ephrata (1-0) began its season and CWAC play with a resounding 7-0 win against Quincy (1-1). After their home opener, the Tigers will now go on the road for three straight matches against Grandview, Connell and Prosser.
The Jacks will look to get back over .500 Thursday at home against Warden (0-0).
VOLLEYBALL
Quincy volleyball (0-1) was swept on the road against East Valley (Yakima) to start its season. The Jacks will look to rebound Sept. 16 at home against Omak.
Soap Lake (0-1) dropped its opening match to Bridgeport in four sets. The Eagles will try to grab their first win today against Cashmere.
Othello (1-0) swept Wapato to begin CWAC play.
