City approves light commercial uses in neighborhoods

SANDPOINT — After a few tweaks, council members authorized the new mixed use residential zoning, fusing light commercial applications to many local neighborhoods.

A new type of zoning that replaces professional office and commercial neighborhood zones, mixed use residential zones are intended for primarily residential neighborhoods that also offer some degree of commercial flexibility. The council held a public hearing last week over a refined codes modified by the Planning and Zoning Commission over the year to lower intensity on nearby residences.
