Love leads Cats at home golf tourney with 89

Gabe Love led the Wildcat golf team at the Columbia Falls Invitational, carding an 89 at the Sept. 9 tournament at the Meadow Lake Resort golf course, good enough for fourth place.

Tristin Steinwand took eighth at 100, and Bryce Callender rounded out the top 10 at 103.

On the girls side, Ashley Trueblood took third at 98. Shealyn Lefebvre was fifth at 105, Allie Gould took sixth at 106, and Maddie Heinz was ninth at 126.

Jonny Cielak, of Libby, won the boys bracket at 83, and Peyton Anderson, of Polson, fired an 88 to win the girls title. As a team, the Columbia Falls girls shot 343, and the boys hit 400.

At the Libby Invitational on Sept. 11, Trueblood shot 105 to take 10th. Love shot 87 to take sixth, and Henry Chisholm hit 90 to take 10th. As a team, the boys took fourth with 377, and the girls were third at 451.

Columbia Falls hosted another tourney at Meadow Lake Resort on Tuesday after presstime and will host the divisional tournament at Meadow Lake Resort on Sept. 25.

Search suspended for missing skiers
