RITZVILLE - A Spokane man who led police on a chase on Interstate 90 near Ritzville was caught Wednesday.

Troopers reported speeds between 40 and 110 mph.

About 1:30 p.m., the Washington State Patrol began receiving reports of an erratic vehicle driving west on I-90.

Scott Williams, 52, of Spokane Valley, was driving fast and making erratic lane changes, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Williams has four DUI charges and his driver's license was revoked in the first-degree.

Troopers continued to pursue Williams' vehicle because of his driving record and the danger he posed to other drivers.

Troopers pursued Williams into the Ritzville area and WSP communications dispatched a single engine Cessna airplane from Ephrata.

With the plane overhead, troopers gave Williams more space in an attempt to lower his speed and deploy spike strips.

A trooper deployed spike strips in front of the vehicle at milepost 202, 22 miles west of Ritzville, and successfully stopped the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a rest near milepost 201 and Williams was taken into custody without incident, according to the patrol.

Williams was cited for felony eluding, felony DUI, reckless driving, driving with a revoked license and not having an ignition interlock system.
