GREAT FALLS  — A 49-year-old Great Falls woman is charged with negligent homicide for a man’s methadone overdose death this spring.

Cheryl Ingram Dagel made an initial appearance in District Court Wednesday, where her bail was set at $50,000. She is charged in the April 22 death of 19-year-old Cody Evans. She also is charged with criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. She has not entered a plea to either charge.

Prosecutors allege Evans gave Dagel $40 for methadone pills on April 21. Some witnesses told investigators that he bought six pills. Four pills were found in Evans’ wallet.
