Two-vehicle crash on Atlas Road injures both drivers

A two-vehicle crash on Atlas Road in the Rathdrum area on Thursday injured both drivers.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Regina L. Rodda, 26, Post Falls, was driving southbound on Atlas in a 2011 GMC Acadia when she failed to stop for a stop sign at Boekel Road.
The Acadia went into the path of a 1981 Mack dump truck loaded with gravel, driven by Robert B. Jones, 47, Rathdrum. The truck struck the Acadia in the back half of the driver's door and rolled onto its passenger side as a result of the collision.
Rodda, who was extricated from the Acadia, was listed in serious condition on Friday at Kootenai Health.
Jones was treated for minor injuries and released.
Neither excessive speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
The intersection was closed for four hours. An investigation continues.
