The Whitefish Police Department was called about “a bunch of homeless-looking people” sitting off a bike path in the woods. The caller was unable to see them clearly and officers were unable to locate them. The case of the vagabond phantoms remains unsolved.

A woman on Baker Avenue said a man she saw two weeks ago might be stalking her. There was no incident that day, but she wanted it logged for the record.

An assault on Columbia Avenue at 7 a.m. prompted a call to police. The reporting party said his friend was beaten up but refusing medical treatment. The man across the street had an altercation with the assaulted man, which apparently turned violent.

An intoxicated male was walking and weaving on the side of Columbia Avenue carrying grocery bags. The reporting party saw the man walking in the middle of the street heading toward the dog park.

A woman was weeping by a vehicle on Central Avenue. The caller believed she had been drinking and was going to try to drive. He tried to offer her a cab as she had been looking for her vehicle and couldn’t find it. She refused.

The Columbia Falls Police Department was called about a burglary on Ninth Street East. A man said his house had been broken into and his laptop stolen. Also taken were three guns, a shotgun, revolver and rifle.

An alarm went off at a construction site. Workers accidentally set off the alarm near a window which was rigged to call the police. No crime was committed.

A man was walking in an unsafe manner near the Teakettle Fishing Access site dragging a suitcase behind him. A concerned driver pulled over and told him he was awfully close to traffic. The man said the drivers should just hit him and kill him. The driver subsequently called police to report the man’s suicidal tendencies.

The same man was reported later as well and he told officers he was just waiting for a ride and having a bad day, but not suicidal.

A Third Avenue West woman reported the father of her youngest grandchild is making threats to come get the child. She said she would call again if he showed up at their residence.
