Vandals damage school windows, doors

Columbia Falls Police got a report Sunday about windows being vandalized at Columbia Falls High School. About 16 windows and four entry doors were shot out with a BB or pellet gun.
A man called Kalispell Police Saturday from Third Avenue West to report that he was punched in the face by a friend after the reporting party attempted to stop the friend from driving because he was drunk.
A person calling from Juniper Bend Drive reported the theft of some change and a computer from a vehicle.
A person calling from North Main Street reported the theft of a bicycle.
A woman calling from Sixth Avenue West North said her son has been in jail, and his home was recently broken into.
The manager of a store on West Idaho Street reported that a woman left the store with a cart full of groceries.
There was a report of five vehicles being broken into on Sixth Street East, and the reporting party said that about $940 in cash was stolen.
Sunday, at about 5 a.m., a man calling from Liberty Street said that while he was passed out at a friend’s house, his vehicle was stolen. He later located the vehicle on Wyoming Street and he said it had been trashed and wrecked.
Someone reported that change was stolen from a vehicle on Seventh Avenue East.
Items were reported stolen from a vehicle on Third Avenue East.
The manager of a store on West Idaho Street reported that a female customer told him that a man on a bicycle pulled up to her and threatened her with a knife. The incident is under investigation.
There was a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance at a hotel on U.S. 93 South.
Early Monday, at about 2 a.m., there was a report of two intoxicated women arguing at a location on Northern Lights Boulevard, and one of the women said she had been assaulted. When an officer arrived, both women refused to come out of the house.
After there was a report about a man who had a warrant for bad checks being at a location on West Idaho Street, the man was located and arrested for the warrant.
A woman calling from Windward Loop reported that her purse was stolen, and multiple items that were in it were found in a neighbor’s yard. The purse was later located by someone else and turned in at the police station.
A man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office Sunday to report that he was called by a deputy the night before in regard to an incident involving his wife and her mother, but he was drunk and didn’t remember anything except that he yelled at the deputy, thinking it was a prank call.
There was a report of a 52-year-old woman being out of control at a location on Whitefish Stage Road. The woman had threatened to throw a vase at the reporting party, and she was upset because she wanted to go back to California.
A man calling from Holt Stage Road reported that a chainsaw and a variety of tools were stolen out of his garage while he was out of town.
There was a report of an unwanted and unruly man refusing to leave a residence on Forest Drive.
A person calling from Lincoln Lane reported that a storage unit had been broken into, with a generator, fishing equipment and other items being stolen.
A person calling from Columbia Meadows Drive reported that electronic equipment, archery gear and other items were stolen from a garage.
After a disturbance at a Mountain Drive residence in Hungry horse, a woman was arrested for assault, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
Someone reported the theft of a digital reading tablet from a residence on Ridgewood Drive.
A woman calling from Ridgewood reported that her boyfriend choked her and broke her phone.
A woman calling from Elk Park Road said her ex-husband tricked her, and drove her to a remote location where he took her vehicle and attempted to run her over with it. She was never harmed, but she had to walk home.
Whitefish Police got a report Sunday about a group of transients drinking and yelling profanities at people near a downtown bike trail. The transients were told to move along.
There was a report of a vehicle being vandalized on Big Mountain Road.
After someone reported that a truck was being driven very recklessly, there was a traffic stop on O’Brien Avenue and the driver was arrested, presumably for drunk driving.
A man called from a location on U.S. 93 South to report that his mother had been assaulted by his wife, and apparently it involved one of the women trying to take a purse from the other woman.
