The Columbia Falls boys soccer team just finished a tough week, losing 3-1 to Libby on Sept. 18 at home and then getting blanked by Bigfork 1-0 in an away match a few days later.

The Wildcats are struggling. The defense is having a tough time staying in front of its opponents, and the offense can’t find the back of the net.

The Cats had just one shot against Libby. The lone goal against the Loggers was an own goal after it hit the Libby keeper and accidentally went in.

The bright spot in the Cats’ young team is keeper Brandon Karberg. Against Libby, he turned away shot after shot. He had 10 saves against the Loggers and nine against the Vikings.

The Cats are now 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference. They face Polson at home Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. and then travel to Whitefish on Saturday night for a 7 p.m. game at Memorial Field under the lights.
