Lady Devils win at home

NOXON – On Homecoming weekend the Noxon Lady Red Devils triumphed over the competition defeating the visiting Superior Lady Bobcats in a match last weekend.
On the evening of Saturday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. the girls from Noxon took the contest in three straight sets.
The victory in the District 10-C match continued Noxon’s hot start to the young season, moving their record to 4-1 on the year.
Additionally, the Lady Red Devils have won the majority of their divisional matchups and are 3-1 in district play.
Despite taking the match in three sets, competition against the visitors from Superior was fierce and all the sets were not decided until the final points were scored.
In the opening set of the evening match extra points were required with the teams deadlocked when they reached the 25 point cap.
The Noxon girls kept their composure and were able to end the first frame with a 28-26 victory.
The big win in the pivotal first set got the momentum going for the home team who would go on to win the next two sets to ensure a homecoming win for the Lady Red Devils.
The final two sets were decided by scores of 25-20 and 25-23 respectively.
Natalia Beardsley led Noxon’s strong defensive effort throughout the match tallying 15 digs on the night in the home win.
McKenna Krueger who put away 16 kills on the night led the team’s offensive attack.
