Mundel 21st at Mountain West

Samantha Mundel was the top runner for the Columbia Falls girls cross-country team at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula on Sept. 20.
Mundel ran the course in 19 minutes, 3.24 seconds to take 21st. She was the only Wildkat runner to place in the top 100. Thousands run the race, which draws some of the best runners from Montana, Idaho and eastern Washington.
The remaining top girls for Columbia Falls were Meredith Stolte, 161st, at 22:09.34, Hannah Freeman, 174th, at 22:26.32, Kendra Cahoon, 212th, at 23:22.72, and Haylie Peacock, 221st, at 23:37.89.
For the boys, Glenn Morden paced the Wildcats, taking 239th, at 18:29.37, followed by Winfield West, 240th, at 8:29.79, Hunter Peterson, 270th, at 18:56.99, Gabe Knudsen, 325th, at 20:29.90, Storm Kemppainen, 326th, at 20:33.38 and Will Nelson, 331st, at 21:05.37.
Columbia Falls travels to Polson on Saturday for a meet there.
