A tribute to the armed forces

COEUR d'ALENE - The Ensemble of the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale, a select, mixed choir, under the direction of Gaynell Coppess will celebrate United States military men and women Oct. 18-19 during "An American Tribute," a concert of inspiring and patriotic music in the First Presbyterian Church.

Selections will include familiar pieces such as "This Land is Your Land," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "God Bless the USA" and the signature tunes of each of the armed forces.

Veterans and those currently serving will be recognized for their service to the U.S.

The concert is free and will begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 3 p.m. Oct. 19. A free-will offering will be taken with a portion of the proceeds going to the Inland Northwest's Wounded Warrior Projects.

The First Presbyterian Church is located at 521 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
