SANDPOINT — A Ponderay man has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries that took place this summer.

Kenneth Thomas McGuire is charged with four counts of burglary and four counts of grand theft. He was already in custody on a methamphetamine-possession charge when the new charges were filed.

Sandpoint Police stopped McGuire for speeding on Sept. 3 and his vehicle was subject to search because he is on probation, according to a probable cause affidavit. In addition to the drug evidence, the sport utility vehicle he was driving held a number of items which were reported stolen during burglaries in Bonner County.
