MATTAWA - Maria Salas put down nine kills to lead Wahluke to 3-1 games victory in prep volleyball last week.

The Warriors won 25-13, 25-16, 14-25, 25-18.

"Great teamwork," coach Rudi Christian said. "Everyone contributed to the win. It was a team effort."

Morgan Peterson contributed seven kills and three blocks. Maripaz Olivarez was all over the court with seven kills, 15 digs and 14 perfect passes. Diana Silverio had 19 digs and five perfect passes.

Last week's second match didn't go as well. Always tough Burbank won 25-21, 25-18, 25-11, but Christian was pleased with her girls' effort.

"Three tough, intense games," she said.

Olivarez was a leader with five kills, one block and 11 digs. Peterson had three kills and five blocks.
