Whitefish wants input on new superintendent
The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 8 months AGO
Residents of the Whitefish School District are being asked for their input as the search for a new superintendent gets underway.
Staff, parents and community members are invited to fill out an online survey about the qualities and qualifications the Whitefish School District Board of Trustees should seek in candidates for the superintendent position.
Survey results will be used by the school board and consulting firm Northwest Leadership Associates to write a job description and create a leadership profile.
Visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/whitefish to complete the survey. The survey link is also posted on the school district website at www.wsd44.org.
People will be asked to rate characteristics of the district in terms of strengths and challenges. Additionally, survey takers will be asked to rate professional qualifications and personal qualities by level of importance in the selection of a new superintendent. There is also room for additional write-in comments.
The survey does not request personal information, but asks survey takers to indicate which group represents his or her role, or relationship, with the district such as parent, student, community member, teacher or administrator.
Northwest Leadership Associates created the survey and is assisting the board with the superintendent search. Continued discussion on the superintendent search is on the agenda at a special school board meeting at 7 p.m., April 7 in the school board meeting room located at 600 East 2nd St., Whitefish.
Current Whitefish School District Superintendent Kate Orozco recently tendered her resignation so she can move closer to family. She is in her fourth year as superintendent.
