PREP BASEBALL: Hicks drives in three as Vikings run past Hawks

COEUR d'ALENE - Michael Hicks delivered a 3-run double in the second inning and the Coeur d'Alene Vikings beat the Lakeland Hawks 12-2 in a nonleague game at Ted Page Field on Tuesday.
"The kids did a great job overall," Coeur d'Alene coach Nick Rook said. "Our pitchers threw exceptional. The guys are really looking forward to getting league play started this weekend."
The game, previously scheduled for Gorton Field in Rathdrum, was moved due to poor field conditions.
Devin Kluss hit a 3-run double in the sixth inning for Coeur d'Alene (8-3-1), which hosts Post Falls in a 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
JP Zaken and Killian Estes drove in runs for Lakeland (1-5), which travels to Timberlake on Thursday.

POST FALLS - Jacob Elliott struck out six over four innings and two relievers combined to fan four as the Trojans beat the Bulldogs in a nonleague game.
"Our pitchers did a really good job throwing strikes and getting ahead in the count," Post Falls coach Dustin Frank said.
The game was rescheduled from Sandpoint because of poor field conditions.
Treavor Hammel had a 2-run single in the first inning for Post Falls (7-3-1), which travels to Coeur d'Alene on Saturday for a 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader starting at noon.
Sandpoint (1-5) travels to Lake City on Thursday.

MOSCOW - Jarrett Plunkett scored two of the Tigers' three runs in the second game of a doubleheader against the Bears.
Jake Randall drove in three runs in each game for Moscow.
Gage Wells and Seth Villanpando had RBIs in the second game for Timberlake (6-3), which hosts Lakeland on Thursday.
