COEUR d'ALENE - Analisa Raynor had a 2-run single and Kylie Smith had a 2-run double in an eight-run third inning, leading the Coeur d'Alene Vikings past the Lakeland Hawks 14-0 in a nonleague game on Tuesday at Larry Schwenke Field.

"We were pretty rusty to start the game," said Coeur d'Alene coach Larry Bieber, whose team didn't practice on Monday coming off spring break. "Once we got loosened up, we started to hit the ball a lot better. We've got a lot of work to do, but the kids executed well and ran the bases really well."

The game was moved from Lakeland High because of soggy field conditions.

Breana Burke struck out 11 for Coeur d'Alene (7-0), which is scheduled to host Post Falls on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at noon.

"Breana pitched great and we started to get back on track, but there were some things we could have done better," Bieber said. "I'm proud of them though. After that long of a layoff, it was a pretty good effort."

Megean Blauvelt and Katie Kastning had doubles for Lakeland (0-6), which hosts Timberlake on Thursday.

Justina Kalar had two hits in the second game for Timberlake (2-5, 2-0 IML), which travels to Lakeland on Thursday.
