Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 9 months AGO
A grand night of singing is about to take place in Coeur d'Alene.
Members of the 3Cs (Cancer and Community Charities) Coeur d'Aleers choral group will present their 22nd annual spring concert It's a Grand Night for Singing at 7:30 p.m. on April 17 at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road.
Tickets are $8 or 2 for $15 and are available from choral members, or at Great Harvest Bread Co. or at the door.
The concert will include some international selections and lively Broadway tunes and will be followed by refreshments. Guests can participate in a raffle with all proceeds from the concert being donated to the 3Cs for its community charity grants.
The Coeur d'Aleers' history in the community began nearly 30 years ago with a small group of women within the 3Cs.
Then known as "The Chorale," it met in a member's home for rehearsals. The name "Coeur d'Aleers" was coined by member Joan Pyle-Wilson in 1993 as she composed the group's new theme song.
The Coeur d'Aleers present two major concerts each year to raise funds for the 3Cs, and the chorus serves the community by singing for residents of area retirement homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes at least twice a month from September through April.
There are members in the chorus who have enjoyed singing and raising funds for the charity for more than 20 years.
