PREP ROUNDUP: Timberlake boys win at Moscow invite

TRACK AND FIELD

MOSCOW - Timberlake's 4x200-meter boys relay team of Levi Shaffer, Brannen Pedregon, Austin Malloy and Brock Herbert won in 1 minute, 35.93 seconds and Tyler Badertscher won the pole vault with a jump of 12 feet, leading the Tigers to the team championship at the Moscow Invitational on Saturday.

Allison Kirby won the girls pole vault for Timberlake's girls, who finished second to host Moscow.

Post Falls senior Kim Reynolds won the girls shot put with a throw of 34-7.

"It was a really good throw considering the rain and the wind," Post Falls coach Wade Quesnell said. "I was proud of the overall team effort of our kids. We scored some points in about everything we could."

COEUR d'ALENE - Zach Weadick, Andrew Olvera and Kailey Emmerson won in singles for the Timberwolves in a match against the Bears at Lake City High.

Bryce Martin and CC Cates won in girls doubles for Lake City, which hosts Post Falls on Tuesday.

"We really improved from the last time we played them," Lake City boys coach Bob Brunn said. "We played them down there on Wednesday (Moscow won 11-1) and it was much improved all around."

COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene No. 2 boys doubles team of Cole Williams and Brady Frazier beat Nate Vassell and Darrick Blood, 6-4, 6-4 to clinch a win for the Vikings at Coeur d'Alene High.

"It was a good match," Coeur d'Alene boys coach Dan O'Connor said. "Moscow has a good team, they're impressive. I was glad to do as well as we did. We played in tough conditions, it was very windy, but I thought our guys gave a good effort."

Girls results were not available.

Coeur d'Alene plays Thursday at Moscow.
