All (lost) dogs go to jail

A man brought a lost beagle puppy to the Whitefish Police Department. According to the report, the beagle was “put in jail.” Hopefully the puppy’s cellmate was friendly.

Area musicians might be without the ability to rock after two guitars were found untended behind a Central Avenue bar. Dispatch said it hadn’t received a report of missing guitars but would keep an ear out.

Someone reported a pedestrian hazard on Central Avenue. Apparently, a board with nails sticking out was hanging from a building at eye level. Police determined that a piece of siding had become detached and they removed the potentially eye-prodding piece.

Someone sent a fax to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office claiming that he was “hit by a lazer beam” in the eye while driving. He wanted to report a suspect in this high-tech case.

A concerned Lakeside resident said that some adults were drinking in a U.S. 93 South business while three small children waited in the car.

A woman allegedly filled up a cart full of groceries and took off from the U.S. 2 East business. Deputies requested video footage of the suspect.

The Kalispell Police Department received a call of some ill-intentioned youths throwing rocks at people on Main Street. One nearly hit the caller. Police stopped by, but after they left the caller claimed that the kids were testing their throwing arms again in another parking lot. 

There were reports of a bug on fire near West Reserve Drive — a 1970s-model Volkswagen bug, that is. The flames sprouted up from the engine but eventually were put out with no injuries reported.

Another engine fire was reported near Four Mile Drive and U.S. 93 South. This time, it was a domestic sedan.

A person trying to dial 411 accidentally dialed 911 and had to explain himself to dispatch.

Someone tossed a suitcase into the yard of an 18th Street East business. An employee called police to have it picked up.

Beyond the usual reports of stolen bike, someone told police that a bike rack was taken from Fourth Avenue West North.
