Junior High talent show winners

More than 25 students competed in the Columbia Falls Junior High School talent show on March 26, which featured everything from original songs to magic.

Winners received plaques and prize money. Winners included Kim Peacock, 1st place; Jed Shamp,  2nd place; Isaac Adams and Bridger Gould, 3rd place; Taylor Sterling, 4th place; Alex Brown,  5th place; Akela Hammond, Honorable Mention; Ave McDonald, Honorable Mention; and Emma Upton, Honorable Mention.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
