CORVALLIS – All three Mineral County track and field teams competed at a meet hosted by Darby in Corvallis last week that featured area athletes throwing farther, running harder, jumping higher and further and running faster than they had all year.

St. Regis Track and Field Head Coach Maury Johnston said he was impressed with how well the team performed.

“The kids have done well,” Johnston said. “We did well in the high jump. Brandon Managhan did well and Andrew Managhan made a 5’ 8”. He also did well in the long jump. The younger kids are doing well. The goal is to get better every week.”

Superior Track and Field Head Coach Jaime Toivonen said she also was proud of how the team excelled.

“They are doing great,” Toivonen said. “We’ve had several personal bests. I’m really proud of how the kids are doing what we’ve asked them to do and improving every week. We’ve seen improvement at every single track meet so we’re proud of them.”

The Alberton Panthers also made an appearance at the meet with Taylor Erdman flying high over the bar in the high jump as well as putting on a show with their boy’s relay team.

The Superior Bobcats and the St. Regis Tigers will next make an appearance at the Thompson Falls Invitational on April 16 while the Panthers will go to Seeley Invite in Big Sky on April 18.
