Hot Springs track finishes strong at invitational

HOT SPRINGS – The Hot Springs boys track and field team competed to a third place finish at the Darby/Lawrence Invitational last week.
The boys of Hot Springs took third in the meet behind only the teams form Crovallis and Stevensville.
Anthony Byrns led the charge for the Savage Heat taking first in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events.
In the 100-meter event Byrns crossed the finish line first with a time of 11.13.
In the 200-meter race Byrns took the top spot with a 22.82.
Byrns also took second place in the 400-meter event with a time of 54.22.
Trevor Paro took first in the triple jump event with a 39-04.
Paro also took fourth in the long jump event with a 19-02.50.
Nate Gray threw to a sixth place finish in the javelin event with a throw of 145-09.
The Hot Springs track and field squad will next compete at the Thompson Falls Invitational in the western portion of Sanders County.
