BONNERS FERRY - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Bonner County man accused of the brazen theft of a laptop computer from Radio Shack earlier this month.
Magistrate Court Judge Justin Julian issued a $20,000 warrant for the arrest of Andrew Mark Dearmin, Boundary County officials announced on Monday. The offense with which Dearmin is charged was not specified in a county news release.
Dearmin was identified through video surveillance and tips from the public, county officials said. He is accused of entering the store, concealing the laptop under his clothing and leaving the scene in a green late-model sport utility vehicle.
The theft occurred as the store was preparing to relocate from its downtown location to Bonners Ferry's South Hill.
Dearmin is also the subject of a $3,000 arrest warrant in Bonner County for failing to pay fines in a drug paraphernalia possession case, according to the Idaho Supreme Court Data Repository.
Dearmin, who is in his mid-30s, was charged in 2006 with trafficking methamphetamine, burglary and misdemeanor theft in Bonner County. He pleaded guilty to burglary and the trafficking and theft counts were dismissed.
Dearmin was charged with attempted burglary in Kootenai County in 2012, but the case was dismissed, according to the repository. Earlier in that year, Dearmin was charged with burglary and pleaded guilty.
