Sheriff's Office has repeat customer

A woman came to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office with a report of a stolen car and $1,000 missing. Deputies realized that the same woman had been making the same complaint for several months. The money was reportedly a civil disagreement between the woman and another person, while the car was registered in both of their names, so could not technically be stolen by the listed owner.
A 10-year-old was reportedly bitten by a dog on Alpha Terrace near Lakeside.
Some kids were reportedly playing on a log in the Whitefish River, which made a Cheery Lynn Road resident nervous. She brought this to the attention of the sheriff’s office, and deputies counseled the kids’ parent.
Bystanders on Pleasant Valley Road were having trouble finding the owner of two horses that were hanging out near the post office in Marion. An animal control deputy was able to link them up with some men nearby who happened to be searching for their lost horses.
The owner of a lawn maintenance business said that one of his employees was met with a shotgun when he approached a house to do work. Nobody was reported to be injured.
A man reportedly walked out on a $102 meal from an eatery on Montana 35. Deputies helped track the man down and obtained a check for the food.
A man and three kids were reported missing after they didn’t come back on time from hiking near Ashley Lake. The call came in from a concerned neighbor. Deputies found the group, who were OK but behind schedule a bit.
Three unpleasant transients were reported to be begging for money on Central Avenue. A passerby told the Whitefish Police Department that they would swear and yell at people who didn’t give to their cause. Police asked them to move along.
One woman thought she was witnessing a crime in progress while sitting in a truck on Dakota Avenue. She told police that she saw a woman try to enter a home. An officer caught up with the suspect, who said she was trying to capture photos of a deer and wanted to ask the residents if she could walk around.
A man walked into the Kalispell Police Department to speak to an officer about a pawned television set. He also told officers that he was supposed to be served a restraining order in a separate case. That turned out to be true, so officers served him on site.
A man reported the theft of items from his vehicle, but later realized he was just the victim of a friendly prank.
No injuries were reported in a vehicle accident on U.S. 93 North and Hutton Ranch Road, though the thoroughfare was blocked for a while.
Another minor crash on U.S. 93 North involved no road blockage, but one driver took off due to expired registration, according to the report.
Reports of a transient camp on the east side of town were reportedly unfounded upon investigation.
A Hutton Ranch Road pharmacy customer feared that somebody was sitting close enough to listen in to personal information. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
No one was injured after a motorcycle rider put the bike down while going “very fast” on Seventh Street West.
In another motorcycle crash near West Reserve Drive, two riders suffered some “road rash” but were otherwise OK.
A backpack containing marijuana and a pipe was found in the bathroom at a Hutton Ranch Road business.
