A Hungry Horse man with a long rap sheet was sent to prison Thursday after admitting to violations of a previous suspended sentence.

Ryan Lee Moskaloff, 38, will serve two years in Montana State Prison for multiple violations including drug use, failure to report to supervising officers and subsequent arrests. He admitted to the allegations during a hearing in Flathead County District Court.

The hearing had been pushed back three times as new allegations kept coming up. 

The hearing dealt with probation violations that stemmed from a 2001 sentencing for drug-related crimes. Moskaloff received a sentence of 15 years with the state Department of Corrections with seven of them suspended. Since then, Moskaloff has been arrested for sexual assault, theft, burglary, drug possession and assault.

Moskaloff has been paroled out of prison several times over the years.

In prosecuting the case on Thursday, Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan outlined that criminal history and recommended the two-year prison sentence. Defense attorney Brent Getty agreed, saying that Moskaloff wanted to get the 15-year-old criminal charge behind him.

Moskaloff still has two cases to work through, however. One is a 2014 felony for failure to register as a sexual offender and the other is a felony assault charge from this year. 

In the latter case, Moskaloff allegedly threatened another man with a shotgun. The altercation left the man with a gunshot wound in the ankle, attributed as an accidental discharge.
