* TRACK AND FIELD

PASCO, Wash. - St. Maries senior Logan Feasline won the boys discus with a throw of 174 feet, 2 inches during the annual Pasco Invitational on Saturday.

Feasline's throw was 14 feet better than Jakob Chamberlin of Bellingham, who finished second at 160-0. Quinn Mitchell of Lake City was fourth at 154-6. Feasline was fifth (51-3) and Mitchell sixth (50-7) in the shot put.

"It was great to see Quinn crack the 50-foot barrier in the shot," Lake City coach Kelly Reed said.

Coeur d'Alene High's Victoria Goetz finished second in the 400-meter dash in 57.02 seconds. Her teammate Kaitlyn Gunnerson was also second in the 100 hurdles in 14.94, with Mead's Zella Conley winning the event in 14.91 seconds.

Gunnerson was third in the 300 hurdles in 44.41.

Coeur d'Alene senior Josie Brown was fourth in the 3,200-meter run in 11:32.49.

Lake City senior Maddison Ward finished fifth in both the 100 (12.26 seconds) and 200 (25.65).

"Anytime you can place at Pasco, it's something to be proud of," Reed said. "It is one of the best, if not the best meets in the northwest. To get on the award stand twice is great. Maddi looked like she always does - smooth, fast - and make it look really easy. She's way ahead of where she was at this point last year. The next month should be interesting."

Lake City's Jocie Osika was seventh in the discus at 112-8.

In the girls elite mile race, Coeur d'Alene's Kara Story finished eighth in 5:14.99 and Sandpoint's Mikhaela Woodward was 16th in 5:40.93.
