Reports conflicting about injured dog

The Whitefish Police Department was called after a driver was allegedly illegally passed by a driver on Second Street who subsequently hit a dog with their vehicle. The driver was reportedly passed by a two-door red Audi on a double-yellow and then witnessed the vehicle hit a yellow lab. The owner of the dog said it appeared uninjured so the driver left. Conflicting reports found that the dog had jumped out of a pickup truck and injured itself. It was taken to the animal hospital.
An East First Street establishment called authorities to help deal with an intoxicated man who refused to pay. The man was walking down the street and the caller followed him with a cordless phone which began to cut out so the call was severed.
A Lakeshore Drive woman called the police after catching a man looking into her basement window. She confronted the man, who then asked her how to get to Whitefish. He left but the caller believed he was still around the house because motion lights were going off.
The same man returned to the address, knocking on the door and standing on the porch without saying anything. He was escorted from the property.
The Columbia Falls Police Department took a call from a Crescent Drive resident who reported his “freeboard” had been stolen and sold to a pawn shop. The freeboard, a six-wheeled skateboard, was allegedly taken from the caller’s residence. The pawn shop was advised.
A Nucleus Avenue resident called about a bunch of flashing lights he saw outside. It turned out to be teenagers with flashlights walking in the woods.
The Polson Police Department made an arrest for driving under the influence near a bar in Polson at 5:44 a.m.
