A Coeur d'Alene man and a woman from Lewiston died Sunday afternoon when the ATV they were riding in went off a cliff in Bonner County.

Tom McTevia, 42, was driving the ATV and Tina Hoisington, 45, was his passenger when the vehicle drove off the cliff at Bernard Overlook near Lakeview Road, according to Idaho State Police. The ATV went down a 500-foot embankment and both occupants died at the scene.

McTevia was well-known in the Coeur d'Alene community. He played an instrumental role in assuring that Tubbs Hill was made accessible to those with disabilities.
