HAYDEN LAKE - Jenna Kaik shot an 87 and is tied for seventh for the North Idaho College women, who are in third place out of seven teams after the first day of a Northwest Athletic Conference league match hosted by NIC at Avondale Golf Club.

Michael Porter shot a 77, good for a tie for 15th, for the NIC men, who are in eighth place out of 10 teams.

Bellevue Community College leads the men's and women's tourneys.

The tourney concludes today.

NIC goes 2-2 at NWAC crossover

YAKIMA, Wash. - Miranda Powless struck out eight in a six-hitter as the Cardinals beat Clark College of Vancouver, Wash., 4-0 to complete play at the NWAC Crossover.

Chloe McIntosh doubled in Maddie Anthony in the first inning for NIC. Hayley Fields hit a two-run triple in the second inning, and scored on Anthony's sacrifice fly.

Earlier, Clackamas defeated NIC 6-5. No other information was available.

NIC (27-4) plays Community Colleges of Spokane on Tuesday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Spokane Falls Community College.
