POST FALLS - Police are searching for a man who pointed a shotgun at Northwest Title Loan employees on Monday and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The armed robbery was reported at the business at the southwest corner of Pleasantview Road and Riverbend Avenue in the factory outlets around 1:15 p.m.

Police Chief Scot Haug said the suspect was described as light-skinned and in his early 20s. The suspect was dressed in all-black clothing and "pretty well covered-up."

"He pointed the shotgun at a clerk and she gave him an undisclosed amount of money," Haug said.

Witnesses last saw the suspect running southbound on Pleasantview. A Kootenai County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit was called to the area and law enforcement set up a perimeter, but the suspect was not located.

"Our thought was that he got into a vehicle and fled, but that's unconfirmed," Haug said.

Those with information are urged to contact Post Falls Police at 773-3517 or leave an anonymous tip at www.postfallspolice.com.

Police don't believe there is any connection to Monday's robbery and the one at the Check 'n Go, 740 N. Cecil Road, No. 114, on March 18.

Haug said he believes easy access to the freeway could be one reason the businesses were targeted.
