Bovee named Sandpoint's Distinguished Young Woman

SANDPOINT — Weeks of practice finally came to fruition Saturday evening at the Sandpoint Events Center for nine high school juniors competing in the Distinguished Young Women program.
All were vying for the chance to be named Sandpoint’s Distinguished Young Woman, earn a slew of college scholarship money, and the chance to compete in the state DYW championship.
But in the end there can only be one.
It was a rewarding night for Madison Bovee, who earned the top spot. In addition to her title, she also walked away with $3,050 in scholarship money.
